Razer is best known for its high-end gaming peripherals like keyboards and monitors or laptops. Razer Best Webcam for MacBook Pro: Razer Kiyo ($80) or Kiyo Pro ($180) Well-suited to everything from game-streaming with Twitch to videoconferencing in Zoom, the Logitech C922 Pro is a solid webcam that works with Macs. Advanced features such as background removal may be enabled using third-party software. So if you don’t have a suitable space on your laptop or monitor to place a webcam, you can always use the included tripod mount. Boasting a pair of microphones on either side of the camera, audio quality is great. Equipped with HD autofocus as well as light correction, the C922 can auto-correct certain lighting and focus issues. It’s capable of capturing 720p, 60 FPS videos for a faster frame rate.Ī high-quality glass lens and wide 78-degree field-of-view (FOV) make the C922 Pro an excellent all-around webcam. Still, it doesn’t hurt to slap the best Mac webcam onto your daily driver, lest you risk the threat of your coworkers mocking your “potato quality” video on Zoom calls. On the bright side, the iMac is catching up with the times, now equipped with a 1080p full HD camera in both its 24- and 27-inch variants. Although Mac desktops and MacBook laptops alike are becoming more powerful thanks to the advent of Apple’s beefy M1 processor, the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are still clutching onto 720p FaceTime cameras, more acceptable for an early 2000s netbook than a modern computer. Mac users in particular are constrained when it comes to webcam quality. Therefore, it might finally be time to shell out for the best Mac webcam you’ve been holding out on. (Don't start with Adium or the resurrected Proteus now, or the few options that iChat has in that area - non of that really covers it as good as is necessary. With remote-friendly workplace policies on the rise, videoconferencing is the new normal. Unfortunately the ones of us who happen to have friends, colleagues and family who don't know better will have to put up with all this, since there are real alternatives around.and as long as there are several major IM systems out there, there will always be need for a good multimessenger that covers it all.! But that will probably always stay wishful thinking. The (German) localization has several errors, the GUI gets messed up occasionally, video - although it generally works - seems to bring down the app occasionally and the whole thing has crashed on me numerous times. While this app is generally better (albeit uglier) and has more features than the original client from M$ it still has lots of problems.! First of all for some reason it takes like forever to launch.!? Then it places that stupid downloads folder on my Desktop, even though I have changed that setting in the prefs countless times.aaargh.! It's really a shame that so many people (yeah, mostly Windows users) are so focussed on MSN as their primary IM and thus force so many others to use it as well.! ![]()
